For every student that has skipped school or is Tardy, this is what they will be assigned:
15 Minutes for each tardy - Serve Saturday school after 4th Tardy (1 Hour)
1 Hour for 1 Period Unexcused Absence
3 hours for a Half Day Unexcused Absence
6 Hours for a Full Day Unexcused Absence
ISS Lunch
ISS lunch counts as 30 minutes off Saturday School time
For the Period to count:
1. Students must get food immediately a report to lunch detention room
2. Students must remain silent
3. Students may not use cell phones unless the supervisor authorizes it for homework completion.
4. If a student is assigned ISS because of the lack of effort in class, then the time served does not take off of the Saturday School time they have.
Any student that is failing two classes will be placed in ISS lunch until they are no longer failing two classes. We will check eligibility every Friday for the next week.
5. Any student kicked out of ISS lunch for behavior will be assigned 4 hours of Saturday School, which can only be served on actual Saturday School. If a student fails to serve they will be suspended from school.
A teacher can assign students individual ISS lunches for not completing assignments.
Any student that does not serve Saturday School will not be able to participate in extra curricular activities and will immediately be assigned ISS lunch until all time is served.
Anyone who does not serve, will not be able to attend events: such as, Homecoming and Prom. Any student who does not serve Saturday School will also not participate in any extra curricular activities, to include practice, until they have served all owed time.
Keep in mind that jobs you receive through Career Link are considered extra curricular. Activities sponsored by any organization or class, such as contests, etc... are included. Extra-curricular is an all encompassing term.
The Saturday school list will come out on Wedsdays, prior to Saturday School. You will be called down during announcements and given your
assigned amount of time. If the student sees any discrepancy they must get a signature from the teacher saying a mistake was made when taking attendance. They will then bring that back to the office to get their time readjusted.
Saturday School time is actually detention time - It can also be served before or after school, but arrangements must be made with the administration.
I want to ensure that you are in school and not missing out on your future. Everyday and period each student attends, we get more money to educate our entire student body. A school skipper effects everyone's education.
Extra-curricular Activites
To be eligible of all events to include dances, field trips, sports, homecoming and prom etc... Will require a student to pass 6 of their 7 classes to be eligible. All activities outside of typical classroom will be considered extra-curricular. If a field trip is essential to the learning process, then a student not meeting these requirements may attend, but it will be determined by the administration
Anyone can make a mistake. A sign of becoming an adult with exceptional qualities, is you accept your mistake, admit you are wrong and serve whatever the consequences are. My goal is to mold each of you into exceptional adults and many of you are there, or are well on the way.
Thank You for your Support,
